Bracelets from Chichicorumi, Ecuador
This jewelry, called artesenia in Spanish, is made by artisans who live in the small indigenous community of Chichicorumi. It is located in the Amazon Basin region of Ecuador, about 5 hours southwest of the capital city of Quito. These artisans make jewelry completely out of materials that grow in the jungle around them, including red anamore seeds, small black achira seeds, and long brown caimito seeds. In Kichwa culture, because of their strong red color, the anamore seeds are considered to bring you luck and money! It is also believed that these seeds will protect you from bad energy. If you purchase these beautiful jungle necklaces and bracelets, 100% of your purchase goes directly back to the artisans who made it. Enjoy!
